Providing veterinary treatment to the foster dogs in our care is an essential part of what we do

Vet practices participating in our scheme make it possible for our volunteer foster carers to bring their foster dog to their local practice for treatments.

Together we can support dogs and their owners to Freedom from domestic abuse

A guide to Freedom for veterinary professionals

Training for veterinary professionals

As a veterinary professional, you can access training and resources through the Links Group Virtual Training Group where you can learn more about the link between the abuse of people and animals in the UK and identifying non-accidental injury in pets.

Dogs Trust is a founding member of the Links Pet Fostering Group and a member of the Links Group who each year, train thousands of professionals, including veterinary teams, animal welfare teams and human welfare professionals.

Our Freedom team can deliver free training sessions about our service and the impact of domestic abuse on pets. Please contact us at freedom@dogstrust.org.uk if you’d like to book training with us.

Could you help to raise awareness of our service by displaying our posters and literature in your waiting rooms?

Please contact your local Freedom team and we’d be delighted to post some out to you.
